The only way is up with these Half Marathon/Marathon/Ultra distance races along the Offas Dyke footpath!
The new addition - the 'Ultra' finishes at the summit of Cyrn y Brain above the Horseshoe Pass, and is a distance of 32 Miles in length.
Starting at Prestatyn seafront, the national trail waymarkers are followed up into the hills on the edge of the town and continue in a Southerly direction, with the scenery and terrain becoming more and more beautiful, and challenging as you go! The registration process will require you to estimate your finish time for the entered distance - as the start for all events is staggered, and you'll get your start time ahead of event day. Start times will vary between 7am - 10am.
Cut Off's. Any runner reaching the following Checkpoints beyond the cut off, shall be retired from the race.
Half Marathon: CP1 (10km) 1hr 45 mins. CP 2 (20km) 3hr 30mins
Full Marathon: CP1 (10km) 1hr 45 mins. CP 2 (20km) 3hr 30mins. CP 3 (40km) 7hrs 30mins.
Ultra Marathon: CP1 (10km) 2hrs. CP 2 (20km) 4hrs. CP 3 (40km) 8hrs.

Half Marathoners finish their journey at the summit of Moel Y Parc, above Bodfari, and Marathon runners finish at Moel Gyw summit above the Clwyd Gate Pass.
There are regular feed stations, and optional transport back to the start. Electronically timed, a finisher medal and more than anything else, a truly beautiful section of national trail - all makes for a great few hours out in the Clwydian Hills!
PLEASE NOTE THAT AS THE ROUTE FOLLOWS THE WELL MARKED NATIONAL TRAIL, THERE ARE NO INDEPENDANT ROUTE MARKINGS, UNTIL YOU LEAVE THE OFFAS DYKE FOOTPATH, TO THE FINAL CLIMB TO THE SUMMIT.
Due to the terrain and potential for bad weather at this time of year, all participants will have to carry a minimum kit requirement.
This shall be:
