Challenging the mindset
Love the format, did this 2 years ago and it was an out and back loop, expected the same but it wasn't, a tough technical circular with the slow realisation had to repeat, but not knowing how many times. A good experience of just getting on with what is in front of you, just keep moving forward, and enjoy. Bravo.

Really enjoyed the race and this format
Disappointed that my result wasn’t recorded despite being checked in by the marshal at the finish

Good fun race before Xmas
The race format was something new to me and I really enjoyed the not knowing how far it was. I found the steep climbs and tricky descents fun slipping around on the mud and wet grass. The marshalls were great, very friendly and helpful. While I enjoyed the route I think it got a bit congested towards the end doing laps and made it tricky for the Marshalls to pick out the leaders. Overall really enjoyed it

Really enjoyable and fun trail race with a friendly atmosphere

Something a bit different
I love the concept of this event, not knowing exactly where you’re going to go or how far it is going to be is really fun and not something I’ve come across before. The potential for different routes from the start point is huge. Today’s race was really tough, a really good challenge and by far the most elevation over such a short distance that I’ve ever done. But, it’s not a mountain race, it’s doable for most I would think, even if you aren’t very fast! Thanks to Joe and the marshalls for a well organised event.

Hard but fun!
Enjoyed the mystery of distance, a big fan of the cruelty of sending us up that hill more than once! (I'm sure my legs will disagree)
Tony Higgins
Bit steep but a great run
Really enjoyed a properly challenging event for me, I like the psychological battle of the 3 loops with some tough ascents
Having run before the distance was good for the hilly format
Thanks and see you at Easter

Great but tough race , very friendly organisers.

Brilliant race

Good potential with the idea
Don’t tell us “minimum 6km maximum 12km” the mystery of the piece of string was why I signed up and then my friend told me the fine print said the 6-12 which ruined it a bit. Ended up being about 6.5km on the day which is a bit short but I think that was because of the weather. Marshalls need to be clearer and louder too as me and a friend who ran together didn’t hear the “final 1km” warning and casually finished the race instead of giving it our all which left us a bit disappointed. Very cool concept but driving an hour from Liverpool for a mid 6km was a bit crap. Photographers could do more too as there was only about 30 people racing and they just took sporadic pictures of random people now and again. It was only a £20 race so I get it, for the price, but just giving honest feedback as there wasn’t too many people to take photos of with such a small turnout so a bit more could have been done for a better experience. Also maybe don’t get a photo at the steepest part of the summit too where most people are walking as it’s hardly an action shot. Sorry for the essay, just wanting to give constructive criticism. £20 is not expensive for a race so no one can really be mad, but thinking of improvements for bigger turnouts in future
Thanks for taking part, and well done! We actually had 87 runners out there today. Sorry that you didn’t hear the ‘1km to go’ warning…I’m guessing it was because it was so windy. I feel that giving a range (6-12km) in terms of the distances to expect is helpful to some participants, who may rule it out for fear of not being able to complete a particular distance in the hills. By stating it won’t be any longer than 12km, makes it more inclusive I think. But thanks for the feedback, perhaps I could extend that range. Finally, apologies if you thought the 6.5km was too short, but obviously it was in the range runners were told to expect….though the next one is likely to be longer, I suspect :-)

Not as good as last year
Course felt a bit lazy, thought it might be longer this year.
Also my chip didn’t register so looks like I didn’t run it. Number 6.
Virtually no race briefing
Thanks for your comments. The course I agree, was a fairly simple one, compared to previous. The weather (which actually turned out better than forecast!) did play a part here. The course for the next POS will be different again, and I’m my view, more fun and interesting! A briefing of greater length on Saturday, would have been extremely difficult given the wind! Thanks for taking part again!
