This new 50k route starts at the iconic Pen y Pass complex on the slopes of Snowdon and starts with an ascent of the Pyg track to reach Llyn Glaslyn, before the Miners track is descended - marking the start of the journey, shadowing the river to the sea at Morfa Bychan. A straight line along the Glaslyn would be pleasant, but a little short for our outing, and the twists and turns, and associated height gain on the route we've devised makes for a truly spectacular day out in Snowdonia!
The exact figures are 50.8km, and 2386m of height gain, and includes an ascent of the 'Welsh Matterhorn' - Cnicht.
Expect a slow and steady pace whereby we walk the climbs, and jog the rest with plenty of rest stops and regrouping, to enjoy the fantastic scenery!
We shall transport your spare kit and refreshemnts and have them ready for you at 4 checkpoints, roughly every 10km along the route.
Professionally guided, you'll be well looked after and a great day out will leave you with lots of memories and a completion certificate and memento to mark it!
We will offer the option to purchase a coach ticket to transport you to the start from Ruthin or Denbigh in the Vale of Clwyd. Please note that participants must organise their own transportation from the finish point at Porthmadog.
Join us on the first ever Source 2 Sea - River Glaslyn, in February 2024!
