The Welsh 3000’s – Run Challenge is a 1 day, fully guided and supported ‘run’ along the highest mountains of Wales. The traditional 24 hour challenge to complete the 15 peaks is a tough ask, but doable for most moderately fit walkers who have prepared well. We will be moving relatively quickly for this challenge, and shall be running sections where appropriate, to gain an overall completion time of around 17 hours. We shall average a fast walking pace, using the more runnable ground for some running where possible, allowing ourselves the time to pace ourselves appropriately by taking it easy on the long climbs. This however, is dependant on a number of factors, not least the weather conditions. The route represents a real challenge, and is undertaken in a mountainous environment where previous experience is absolutely necessary for those taking this on. The route involves a lot of ascent (12,000ft), and at over 27 miles in length it represents a serious undertaking for those that are well prepared. Some (Grade 1) scrambling that never gets very difficult, but on Crib Goch the exposure is significant and participants must have a good head for heights and be comfortable in the mountain environment. Yes, it’s tough, but the rewards for those that take it on are truly great. The Welsh 3000’s – one for 2018?! A maximum of 8 persons per guide, are permitted for this challenge.
We are offering a limited number of spaces for this challenge, and will be providing the following, over the course of the day, to make your journey along the Welsh 3000's, as safe, stress free and enjoyable as possible:
